Classes at Primary Foto Source
As digital photography evolves and becomes more prevalent, more people require information to take better pictures with digital cameras. There are a variety of differences between film and digital photography. We have offered classes for the past several years to educate our clients of these differences.
John Nistico gives practical knowledge to the students that they can use immediately to get better photographs. John is a Master of Photographic Arts and enjoys teaching photography in a fun, relaxed, interactive manner.
Designed for the beginner, this class does not require the student to own a digital camera. Many students have taken this course prior to buying a digital camera to learn what to buy. John talks about the jargon of digital photography and clears up many of the confusing issues surrounding digital photography. The course is not camera specific but covers the commonalities of all digital cameras. The beginner will easily understand the lessons taught.
These classes are designed to teach the camera owner about their specific camera. We go through the capture menus and review menus and explain not only what they do, but also under what circumstances you would use the feature. Many who have taken these classes were brought to places in the menus that they never knew existed. Many of the features taught help the owner take better pictures and realize the versatility of their camera.
This course is two nights and covers an extensive amount of information. The first night covers the Single Lens Reflex Camera in general. Topics such as F-stops and Shutter Speeds and their relationship with sharpness and motion blur are discussed. The course teaches how to use the SLR as a creative tool rather than just a documentary device.
The second night will deal with the digital part of the camera. Raw format, shooting modes, review modes and digital workflow will be reviewed. John will show how to set up your camera depending on your subject matter. An introduction to Adobe Photoshop will also be covered to help with the workflow area of discussion. John will show you how the image editing software extends the creativity of the digital camera image.
